Explore the complex ways institutional bias influences the identity development of young children. You will also examine methods for supporting resilience. Also focus on cultural dissonance in the classroom and how adults can support all of the children with whom they interact. Reflect on your own bias and how you might shift your level of awareness with respect to preconceptions and/or misconceptions.

Family is the most important factor that influences identity development of children and the family members must be able to contribute to the development of the personality of the children constructively.
