As we continue our discussion on how we interpret our surroundings and how we classify others in our perspective, the question becomes, "what is the point of all of this?" Singer describes the concept of the "narrative identity." He asserts this is "the internalized and evolving story of the self that a person consciously and unconsciously constructs to bind together many different aspects of the self...it provides a person's life with some degree of unity, purpose, and meaning."
