How much the fed does for the economy

This video talks about the Fed's response to 9/11. Watch the video (it's only 17 minutes!!) and I want your reaction to the video. Many people do not realize just how much the Fed does for the economy. Some things you can talk about are:

- Things you didn't know about what the Fed does. (be specific)

- Relate the events of 9/11 to those of the Great Depression in similarities and differences, with respect to the banking system. (You may talk about how the Fed could have done things differently to help recovery from the depression faster, if you find it appropriate.)

- How bad things could have been following 9/11 if the Fed didn't do what they did.

If there is something else you would like to write about, that's fine, but it has to be relevant to both the video and the class.
