Here is the problem which I am struggling on, please help me!

Problem: When a piece of wood is pressed against a spring and compresses the spring by 3.50cm, the wood gains a maximum kinetic energy K when it is released.

Part A: How much kinetic energy (in terms of K) would the piece of wood gain if the spring were compressed 7.00 cm instead?

Please use great detail in explaining the solution. Thank you.
