A woman supports a 50 kg barbell at 90 degrees by contracting the biceps in both arms. Her biceps insert 4 cm from the elbow and the barbell in her hands is 24 cm away. Calculate how much force her biceps must produce to support the barbell. (By keeping her arm at a 90 degree, she is maintaining static equilibrium). What type of lever is used in this problem?
