A patient needs to have 45ml of blood removed. While the blood is being collected the nurse spills it on the floor. she wipes it up using guaze pads. These wet pads are then rinsed out in a bucket that contains 1.5 L of water. The concentration of the blood mixed with water is 0.8 x 10 to the 6th cells/ml. The patient is known to have a blood concentration of 5 x 10 to the 6th cells/ml. Based on this information how much blood had been removed from this patient?
