If an accident occurred and one of these tankers emptied all of the oil into the ocean, how much area would the resulting slick cover, if we assume the slick is one molecule thick? Assume a molecule of oil is a cube that measures 50 micrometers across and a barrel of oil contains approximately 160 liters.
