This year at college, you moved into an off-campus apartment with your friend Latisha. Now that you don't have to eat in the student dining hall, you are both looking forward to cooking what you want to eat. Latisha complains to you that she put on 10 pounds she didn't really need while eating in the dining hall. Her weakness was the overflowing dessert area with freshly baked desserts and soft-serve ice cream every day. She is planning to start eating better and get off those 10 pounds, so she asks you a number of questions. Latisha wants to diet so she started using an app on her phone in which she is entering the foods she eats. She tells you she is currently eating 2200 kcalories a day. She is thinking she should only eat 1200 kcalories/day and asks you how many kcalories you think she needs to start losing weight. Latisha would be happy to lose about 1 pound a week.
