The mass of a wet sample of soil and its container is 0.33 kg. The dry mass of the soil and its container is 0.29 kg. The mass of the container is 0.06 kg and its volume is 0.15 x 10-3 m3. Determine the following.

(a) The bulk, dry, and saturated unit weights of the soil.

(b) The void ratio and the degree of saturation.

(c) How much air void is in the soil?

(d) The weight of water required to saturate 1m3 of this soil.
