The horrific police killing of George Floyd in 2020, and the violent deaths of other black and indigenous and people of colour in Canada and the United States before and since, highlight the need for understanding and action on racism. In this peerScholar assignment, you are invited to consider what psychology can contribute to that work. Please being by reading Working together against racism, from the American Psychological Association's, Monitor on Psychology (1 April, 2020). This article by Zara Abrams briefly describes several areas of research and of intervention.

1. Select one example from the article that y find especially promising or interesting, and explain why y selected it, linking it with some psychological research or concept from any part of intro Psychology course.
2. Briefly describe an experience of racism which y have experienced yourself or which y have witnessed (in person or in the media). How might some psychological research or concepts you have come upon, either in the current article or some other part of your Psychology 1020 or 1010 studies, help offer some explanation for that example of racism?
