An apple is thrown from the passenger side window of a car that is travelling at 55 mph. The initial speed of the apple with respect to the car is 3.0 m/s perpendicular to the road and the initial height of the apple above the road is 1.5 m. You should neglect air drag in this problem as well as the distance from the window of the car to the edge of the road.

(a) How long will it take for the apple to reach the ground?

(b) How far from the side of the road does the apple land?

(c) How far along the road does the apple travel from the time it is thrown to the time it lands?

(d) Determine the length of the displacement vector for the apple during its projectile motion
