Pay careful attention to the division of responsibility, as well as the division of labor. Consider also the degree to which your family used market substitutes for goods and services historically produced in the home, e.g. childcare, meals, home cleaning, lawn mowing. Include your childhood perspective on the whole thing, as well as your analysis of it today. You can also connect your family to national statistics on household labor available in the American Time Use Data online at bls.gov's website. Good sources of data on labor issues include bls website, or think-tanks such as epinet's website.
