In this activity you will familiarize with the social enterprises in sports through an interview with an organization that developed these types of initiatives.

What information do you need?

Information about the initiatives developed by the organization selected. Also, you can supplement your interview with time spent exploring their website, finding articles and reviews written about the organization, or even carrying out a secondary interview with program participants.

How the activity should be resolved?

Firstly, you need information about the organization and its initiatives. After this, you will answer to two key questions:

How has the organization changed over the years?

What strategic alliances has it created?

The success of the activity will depend on the following sequence:

To choose a social Enterprise (nonprofit, for-profit or hybrid) in a country of your choice that working with Sport for Development that can be available for an interview, whether via email, skype, or in person (*If an interview cannot be arranged in person or over the phone/skype, you can communicate via email as well).

Incorporating the information learned in the first four units, analyze the organization and describe its history. Focus on its organization-specific greatest challenges and greatest successes, as well as practical issues.

To ask the nonprofit about its journey, and important steps like defining a mission statement, finding funding, and how they carry out M&E activities:

(i) Discover the inspiration and the entrepreneurial process behind the project;

(ii) Find out if the organization is part of any Sport for Development or entrepreneurial networks;

(iii) Discern the organization's strengths and areas that it needs to work on;

(iv) Describe its original promising idea and its social impact theory.

After this, you shall develop the conclusions and write one post in the Wiki the above-mentioned questions.

The students shall make at least two comments to a post from a colleague (speaking about the differences between the organization, sharing insights, asking further questions, etc)
