If you have ever experienced something like what they shared, how does your story compare with their experience? My most recent position was as a juvenile correctional officer. When I first started with the organization I met with HR, and they gave me a book of policies, a quick rundown of my pay schedule, a basic review of benefits, and all the things a good HRM should do. I was then transitioned to work with a Field Training Officer (FTO), at this point my overall impression was terrific to the point where I felt like I was important just for working there. For the first time in my career, I had pride in my work and where I worked. When I started, I went in guns blazing, I could not wait to be a part of this organization. The FTO I was assigned then started going over the goals, mission, and vision of the company and I was even more impressed when she told me they went into detail about this inverted pyramid.
