I. An Ecosystem Analysis

Your group will be assigned a region and country for an extensive ecosystem analysis to be presented to the class. (China)

You will be asked to present a review of the (a) the national entrepreneurial ecosystem and (b) the start-up ecosystem (of a sector) of a major city in the chosen country.

Your first job is to create an information rich PowerPoint which gives us good information and insights into the chosen country & city.

There should be a minimum of 13 slides, include pictures

A possible outline for the presentation:

1. Brief description of the country and a major city (key statistics etc.)

2. A brief discussion of the historical development of this ecosystem

3. A discussion of the major actors in the national ecosystem: Policy, Markets, Human Capital, Supports, Culture, & Finance.

4. For the start-up ecosystem, pick a specific sector in a city and give a background description of the sector (development, major players, domestic/international reach.)

5. Present the main stakeholders of the sector: research organizations, support organizations, service providers, funding organizations, universities.

6. Conclusion: How do you see the ecosystems in this country affecting future growth potential and what are the key challenges?
