Question 1) What is an emotion?An emotion is a reaction that can drive people to either make or break social structures. They are also capable of forming social bonds between people. More importantly, they are an interconnection of our brains, society, and social relations.

Question 2) How do you know when you are experiencing an "emotion?"
For me, I know when I'm experiencing an emotion such as anger/frustration when my body begins to tighten. I can feel the sensation of frustration run up through my body before it reaches my mind. Once my mind knows I am feeling anger or frustration, it's difficult to retract the emotion.

Question 3) What factors influence how you respond to the experience?
Factors such as hormones, thoughts, muscles, and social environments influence the way we respond to our emotions. For example, if you grew up in a short-tempered household, chances are anger and frustration will be two emotions that would be difficult to manage in adulthood.
