My mother and father were divorced when I was 2 years old. My mom couldn't handle the pressure of raising 2 kids or being a wife, so my dad was the one to take responsibility. My dad was my rock! We were a close-knit family that experienced joys and sorrows together as well as achievements and failures. Since my dad worked fulltime, it was going to take a village (African American Community) to help raise my brother and me. The early divorce of my parents and my mother's limited involvement had a major influence on my family's dynamics and my personal development. Now a mother of 4 I want the best for my children, been divorced once remarried.
