Assignment: Case Study (PowerPoint)
Overview
Students will create a PowerPoint presentation examining how a company utilizes its compensation and benefits structures to meet organizational outcomes. Please keep in mind this is not a general business case study. It's important to approach this assignment with an HR perspective, and maintain that focus throughout. It should emphasize how your chosen organization leverages the benefits it provides to its employees in order to remain competitive, and attract and retain top talent.
Company Selection
You must choose an organization from the pre-approved list below. Students who do not complete their projects using a company from the pre-approved list will receive a zero for the assignment.

Presentation
Since you will not be presenting in person to the class, you will either need to (a) include detailed comments and information in the "notes" section at the bottom of each slide to expand upon your slides' bullet points, OR (b) include voice narration as part of your presentation.
Requirements
Students should use material gathered directly from sources from their chosen organization, as well as information obtained through independent research to complete the project. Your presentation should consist of 9-12 slides (not including the title slide), utilize a minimum of 3 sources, and must include all of the following elements:
1. Introduction with name of the company and the company overview (two slides maximum)
2. How the company uses its own products or services to enhance the total compensation for its employees
3. The internal strengths and weaknesses you identify and how the company leverages its benefits & compensation systems to respond to these factors
4. The external opportunities and threats you identify and how the company leverages its benefits & compensation systems to respond to these factors
5. Examples of traditional and non-traditional benefits and how they are used to meet organizational objectives
6. How the company aligns its benefits with its corporate values
7. Your recommendations regarding an expansion of the benefits programs offered at the company that would further align HR with the accomplishment of organizational goals and values
8. Conclusion/wrap-up
9. Reference slide (this should include at least three outside resources)
