Case Study: Cultural practices can change incredibly all throughout the American Indian populace. Usually, American Indian culture will be centered around living amicably with all components and a balance of the brain, body, and climate. Individualized care should be given to each patient (Cho et al., 2020). In spite of the fact that there are around 500 different Indian clans, they are the smallest of the minority populations in the US. Thirty-three percent of American Indians are living below the destitution level and deficient admittance to medical services is common because of meager street conditions, absence of transportation, and absence of local facilities (Cuellar et al., 2020). Liquor addiction is a difficult issue for American Indian individuals. The aftereffects of liquor addiction can be emotional problems, spousal abuse, liver sickness, wounds, and adolescent pregnancy. American Indians have a higher risk of diabetes, coronary illness, and renal sickness, which can be additionally exacerbated by liquor abuse (Nuño & Herrera, 2022).

Studies have shown that projects pointed toward focusing on risk factors at an early age have diminished drug and liquor use in young adult American Indians. One program is called Family Spirit and is pointed toward instructing American Indian teenage moms on nurturing abilities and healthy propensities. Poor parenting can bring about a higher risk for social medical issues, including drug and liquor abuse. This program has been displayed to diminish risky ways of behaving, like substance abuse, perilous sex, and brutality (Ingalls et al., 2019).

When meeting a patient of American Indian heritage, giving culturally fitting techniques is significant. American Indians will quite often be attentive people and carve out an opportunity to think about a response prior to talking. They might believe talking in a loud voice is discourteous and may lead to difficulties communicating. It might be unsuitable to contact the patient as they value their own space (Cuellar et al., 2020).
