TTL AND gate using NAND chip.
The pin connections for the NAND gate IC (called pinouts) are the same as for the OR gate IC Q1: How can you use a NAND gate to make a NOT gate? Hint: look at the truth tables for a NAND and for NOT gate, keeping in mind that one has two inputs and the other only has one input (Hint: there are two ways to do this!). In the lab: use the Quad 2-input NAND chip to build an AND gate. Have the AND gate control an LED as you did with the OR gate.
Interface TTL logic to 120 VAC lamp. In this part of the lab, you will interface lowpower solid state electronics to the "outside world" by switching the 120 VAC lamp on and off using the AND gate from the previous experiment. The AND gate has voltage and current levels compatible with a computer and can not directly control an appliance like a household lamp. Q2: Why? (Hint: think about the voltage and current requirements for a 100W lamp using the formula for power P). You will use the electromechanical relay to control the lamp from the output of the TTL chip. However, since the relay coil requires 12 VDC and the TTL output is only 5 VDC (ON or logic 1), a transistor driver isneeded. Wire up the circuit shown in Figure 3 and test it out. Keep in mind that you will need both 5 V and 12 V on your Protoboard; use both sides of the dual power supply to get these two voltage levels. You also will need to have one common (ground) connection, so be sure that you connect the DC minus terminals of the two sides of the supply together, either directly on the power supply or on the protoboard.
A quick description of R5 is needed before the next calculation can be completed. R5 is called a sampling resistor. R5 is put in series with the power supply so it shares the same current as the circuit. This is the TOTAL current
What is the maximum symbol rate for this link and the number of bits per symbol? What format would you recommend for the transmitted current pulses on this baseband link?
A 1.80kg , horizontal, uniform tray is attached to a vertical ideal spring of force constant 195N/m and a 290g metal ball is in the tray. The spring is below the tray, so it can oscillate up-and-down.
Convert the first-order Butterworth low-pass prototype, H(z) = 1 / s+1 to a digital IIR filter using impulse invariant method when sampling frequency is 1 Hz.
The series combination of a 4=mu F and a 3mu F capacitor is in series with the parallel combination of a 2 mu F, a 1 ? mu F, and a C - mu F capacitor, (a) What is the maximum possible value for the equivalent capacitance of the five capacitors
An abrupt p-n junction has a doping concentration of 1015, 1016, or 1017 cm-3 on the lightly doped n-side and of 1019 cm-3 on the heavily doped p-side. Obtain series of curves of 1/C2 versus V, where V ranges from -4 to 0V in steps of 0.5V.
Find the appropriate subchannel modulation format (note: the number of constellation points in the modulation mapping scheme should be the power of two).
a circuit for an ac voltmeter utilizes a moving-coil meter that gives a full-scale reading when the average current flowing throught it is 1mA. The moving-coil meter has a 50-ohm resistance.
If I created a file name Budget Analysis 2005.html, what would be the short name generated by Windows?
draw out a schematic that implements a 3-bit XOR gate, but consisting of only 2-bit NAND gates. Your schematic should have from 8-10 NAND gates, but NO other logic function such as OR, AND, INV gates can be in your final design.
Find the magnitude of the electric field at all points in space both inside and outside the slab, in terms of x, the distance measured from the central plane of the slab. What is the field for x = 1.00 cm What is the field for x = 8.00 cm
The RS-232 serial port on a personal computer is transmitting 2400-bit/sec data using a polar NRZ line code that has a peak value of 12 V. Assume that binary 1's and 0's are equally likely to occur.
