Assessment Details

You are working as an IS/ICT specialist for a major healthcare organisation. You are head of the digital transformation project.

Your organisation is a health services provider, specialising in in ruler and remote area health services. The company has underinvested in its technology over the last 10 years and as a result has largely legacy systems and processes. The project kicked off as the company has struggled to keep pace with its competitors and is increasingly concerned about its customer-base being eroded due to disruptive technology changing customers' expectations.

In addition to the core system challenge, your manager returns from a conference at which he was given a demonstration on the role of Big Data Analytics Systems and in the future of the healthcare industry. He is excited about this new technological development and asks you to research the feasibility of incorporating the technologies in the existing business model for the company. He advises that at the conference they discussed opportunities in tele health environment and availability of up to minute customer history.

In this course, there are two assignments which need to be submitted as a professional business report for each assignment (each report should be a complete document in its own right) to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company selected by you.

Assignment 1 Planning

The scope of this assignment is restricted to the following key aspects:

1. Identify the selected organization in the industry mentioned above and any assumptions you have made (max 1 page)
2. How Big Data Analytics Systems are utilised in other organisations in the industry mentioned above and what are the risks (max half page)
3. What experiences are gained by other companies in using Big Data Analytics Systems in your organization in the industry mentioned above (max 1 page)
4. Using a Business Model Canvas, outline how the company's Customer Relationship and Partnerships will change through the project. Consider the resources and Benefits. (max 1 page)
5. Assess the Values and Value Chains of the organisation and discuss how the project will support these. (max half page).
6. The scope to which you recommend your organisation to utilise Big Data Analytics Systems concept in your organization in the industry mentioned above (max 1 page)
7. The infrastructure required to realise such a concept in your organization in the industry mentioned above (max 1 page), and
8. Recommendation & Conclusion (max half page).

The above components are presented to the CEO, therefore need to be precise, succinct and meaningful. For the purpose of the assignment, you can choose an organisation of your choice in the industry mentioned above and provide details of this organisation in the scope (a separate section - not more than half page), and then build the assignment.

Assignment 2 Implementations

This is a follow up from Assignment 1. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has approved your analysis and they have now asked you to provide a professional report on the "Implementation" aspects of the project.

Implementation
In this professional business report, you must at least cover the following points adequately:

1. Define the customer journey, considering some of the key persona's of the project stakeholders for Big Data Analytics Systems concept in your organization in the industry mentioned above (max 1 page),
2. Describe and justify an Information Architecture for Big Data Analytics Systems concept in your organization in the industry mentioned above; (max 1 page),
3. Describe and justify a Technology architecture for Big Data Analytics Systems concept in your organization in the industry mentioned above; (max 1 page),
4. Describe and justify the governance and methodologies you will apply in the project for Big Data Analytics Systems concept in your organization in the industry mentioned above; (max 1 page),
5. Complete a Work breakdowns and work package decomposition; (max 1 page),
6. Outline the Critical Success Factors for the Project for Big Data Analytics Systems concept in your organization in the industry mentioned above; (max 1 page),
7. Discuss the impact of the implementation on the organisation, focusing on the changes required in the ICT unit. Consider Change Management strategies; (max 1 page)
8. Recommendation & Conclusion. (max half page).

Marks can be deducted for the following errors:
1 Problems with format and structure of report.
2 Lack of referencing (Harvard referencing format is the acceptable standard).
3 Spelling, grammar and expression error.
4 Indication of plagiarism/collusion.
5 Inappropriate use of in-text references.
6 Late submission penalty will apply as per the USQ/BELA policies and procedures
