We are discussing what experience we have if any with holsters and their retention levels. My experience with holsters is outside the waistband level 2 retention. It is a hybrid holster made from kydex and leather. I like this holster because it is comfortable to carry with the kydex backing plate and the leather has not been hard on my pistol causing fading on contact points and just overall functional. I do plan to try out a kydex holster and see how it fits and if I like it. The reason I have not changed holsters yet is because the one I use I have no issues with. It does not drift on my belt line it fits my pistol just snug enough so it does not fall out with the retention strap unfastened. I carry as often as possible and Ohio where I am from just became a permit less carry and concealed carry so now more then ever is a good time to carry. Things I would change on the holster and as much as I just talked it up is the material, the leather feels and looks great but it is not so great in bad weather like rain or snow. In the snow and cold weather the leather becomes more stiff making the retaining strap more difficult to maneuver. The time it takes to oil and clean it properly is tedious and again I just have never got around to trying a new holster material.
