Health Inequality Audit Report Assignment -
In this assessment task you are an independent population health consultant contracted by the Victorian Government's Department of Health to perform a health inequality audit for a specific geographic zone within Victoria. You will:
1. Apply the National Health Service (UK) Health Equity Audit tool, an internationally recognised audit tool used in public health practice, to data within your assigned zone;
2. Analyse health inequality in your assigned zone being guided by the National Health Service (UK) Health Equity Audit tool.
3. Provide a written report of your findings for submission to the Department of Health. The report must contain:
i. Introduction and rationale: Audit tool is introduced in terms of health disparities; Audit report's rationale includes population health indicators with established, evidence-based relationships between them.
ii. Data analysis/application of audit tool: Audit tool is appropriately applied to the simulation data, with a variety of means used to demonstrate inequalities/inequities (for example, graphs, charts, tables); Audit report makes appropriate findings about health inequalities/inequities within zone, and appropriately relates these to public health principle(s).
iii. Discussion/Framing of audit results within public health principles: Audit report discusses findings about health inequalities/inequities within zone appropriately, and relates these to public health principle(s).
iv. Conclusion: good summary about health inequality in the zone, referring to your data analysis. Also comment on the data in a wider public health context.
v. High quality presentation suitable for distribution in public health sector.
