On 21 October 2021, Alec Baldwin, while filming Rust, was rehearsing a gunfight scene with a revolver replica. Alec removed the gun from his holster, aimed it in the direction of the camera, and squeezed the trigger. A projectile fired from the gun, striking the cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in the chest. Hutchins died from her injuries. Baldwin believed the prop gun was unable to fire live rounds, but the gun had not been thoroughly checked for safety in advance. (a) With reference to to criminal law doctrine, discuss whether Baldwin legally caused Hutchins' death.
