Detailed instructions: In this assignment you will take the role of the CEO of your current (or past) organisation who is undertaking a significant review of organisational alignment. You, as CEO, are seeking to clarify the changes required to pursue a successful business strategy.

Step 1: Problem statement

Write a concise brief of your selected organisation (c. 150 words) and identify the current state of the organisational elements / architecture. Identify the key issue/s faced by your organisation.

Step 2: Analysis and application

Using at least three relevant theories, models, or concepts from the course and the insights you have gained from the about organisational alignment, culture, structure, control systems, strategic human resource management, and diagnosis and solutions:

Analyse the current state of alignment for your selected organisation.

Identify and justify the two capabilities needed for your organisation to be successful.

Step 3: Evaluation of possible solutions

Synthesise your knowledge organisational capability to develop possible solutions to address the problem/s you have identified to achieve success with the two capabilities you have identified. Explore the feasibility of changes that could be made to organisational elements / architecture to achieve this success.

You may include a concise one page appendix of your proposed strategy.

Written assignments should have the following structure:

A title page with the assignment title, your student name and student number, word count of the text

The body of the report structured with paragraphs and with appropriate headings and citations, including page numbers.

Complete reference list of material cited in the text.

Referencing - Please use the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th edition reference style. This means that when referring to an article or book etc, you indicate the author's name followed by the year of publication (Jones, 1989). For multiple authors include all names (Jones, Smith, & Wilson, 1990).
