Mrs. Rizzo has been working with Jayden to initiate interactions with his peers during snack time in his general education kindergarten classroom. The data collected by Mrs. Rizzo shows that over the last three weeks, he has independently initiated an interaction with a peer twice. Wondering why Jayden was making slow progress toward his goal, Ms. Taylor, Mrs. Rizzo's supervising teacher, observed snack time. She recorded Mrs. Rizzo sitting right next to Jayden at the snack table saying, "Look Jayden, Mateo has fruit snacks. Geoff is eating goldfish. What are you eating?" After asking the question, Mrs. Rizzo waits one second before stating, "You have pretzels, Jayden. I see Ebony has pretzels, too!"
