INTERVIEW PAPER
The Interview Paper is designed to assist you in thinking about exercise beyond as a means to an end for athletes. As athletes or active people, it is sometimes difficult to imagine why the general population does not exercise. As such, interviewing two non-athletes about exercise will help you to see different perspectives on exercise. You are required to interview individuals from two different racial/cultural/ethnic backgrounds in order to analyze the differences in cultural attitudes and challenges toward exercise participation and adherence.
Instruction:
Find two college aged-students or working adults who are similar in age and of the same gender identification. Neither should be friends, family, roommates, or other familiar others. Also, interviewees cannot be student-athletes or other individuals who are required to exercise. One individual should be regularly active (at least 4 times per week) and the second individual should be considered sedentary (little to no regular physical activity). These participants must represent two different cultural/racial/ethnic backgrounds.
Conduct an interview with each individual (separately), asking about their health, history with exercise, and stance on exercise. A detailed interview guide is available at the end of this Course Outline. Get expert-level assignment help in any subject.
Write a 2-3 page paper (not including title page and references; in APA 7th edition format) on your findings and their relationship to course material. The paper should not be a verbatim transcript of the interview. Rather, it should reflect the information you gathered and provide a synthesis of the differences between the two people you interviewed, integrating course material throughout, where appropriate.
