A 2.5 cm thick layer of insulation (k= 1.5 W/m oC) is applied to a plane surface so that the inner surface of the insulation is maintained at 150oC. The insulation outer surface is exposed to ambient air at 35oC to which it loses heat by convection. Find the value of heat transfer coefficient that will ensure that the surface temperature will not exceed 45oC. What is the heat flux through the insulation?
