Problem: Equation may be written T2 (4Π -2 /g)L, which is a straight line through the origin if T2 is plotted versus L. Using the average periods measured for small oscillations, plot T2 versus L in meters. The standard deviation in T2 is 2TaT. Put error bars extending ±2TσT and ±σL from each of the experimental points; i.e., bars of length 4TσT and 2σL, respectively. Draw a straight line best fitting the data. Find the slope of this line, equate it to 4σ2/g and solve for g.
