Pilots of high-performance fighter planes can be subjected to large centripetal accelerations during high-speed turns. Because of these accelerations, the pilots are subjected to forces that can be much greater than their body weight, leading to an accumulation of blood in the abdomen and legs. As a result, the brain becomes starved for blood, and the pilot can lose consciousness. The pilots wear "anti-G suits" to help keep the blood from draining out of the brain. To appreciate the forces that a fighter pilot must endure, consider the magnitude of the normal force that the pilot's seat exerts on him at the bottom of a dive. The plane is traveling at 259 m/s on a vertical circle of radius 721 m. Find the ratio of the normal force to the magnitude of the pilot's weight.
At the bottom, it hits another stationary car with equal mass. The two cars have Velcro and stick together. At what speed do the two cars move after the collision
a boy hears an eco of his own voice from a distant hill after 1s. The speed of the sound is 340m/s. What is the distance of the hill from the boy
You have probably never noticed time dilation effects in everyday life. Calculate the speed that a friend would have to move with respect to you so that your measured time intervals are 1.00% larger than hers
Consider a solid cylinder if mass M and radius rolling down an inclined plane without slipping. Find the speed of its center of mass when the cylinder reaches the bottom.

Calculate the number of electrons in a steel (iron) pinhead. The pinhead may be assumed to be spherical with diameter 2 mm
An object of mass M = 3.5 kg slides from rest a distance d = 6 m down a frictionless inclined plane where it encounters a spring. When the block just touches the spring, how much gravitational potential energy has it lost
How much would an 80.0kg person weigh) on mars where an acceleration of gravity is 3.93m/s^2 and (b) on earth's moon where the acceleration of gravity is 1.63m/s^2.
A 40-g bullet leaves the muzzle of a gun at a speed of 300 m/s. If the barrel of the gun is 12 cm long, what is the force acting on the bullet while it is in the barrel.
A wave of amplitude 0.40 m interferes with a second wave of amplitude 0.3 m traveling in the same direction. (a) What is the largest resultant amplitude that can arise.
An sub with a mass of 1800 kg is traveling eastbound at 17 m/swhile a compact car with mass of 900 kg is traveling westbound witha speed of 15 m/s the cars collide head-on becoming entangled.
A horseshoe (mass= 0.50 kg), which has just been forged, is dropped into 2.7L of water in a 0.45kg iron pot initially at 22 C. estimate the initial temperature of the hot horseshoe
