The work required to charge a capacitor until it has a potential V is given by W = (1/2)CV2. This work is then available as stored electric energy. One application is in the strobe light. In one unit, a capacitor of 10.0 microfarads is charged to 300 V.

a) Suppose it took 30 s to charge the capacitor in the problem above. Find the power that is required to charge it in this time.

b) When this capacitor is discharged through the strobe lamp, it transfers all its energy in 1.0x10-4 s. Find the power delivered to the lamp.
