A 3-phase, 11 kV, round-rotor synchronous generator delivers power to an infinite bus whose line-to-line voltage is constant at 11 kV rms.
The effective stator resistance and synchronous reactance per phase of the synchronous generator are respectively 1 ohm and 30 ohm.
a) For the operating condition where the magnitude of the generator phase current is 60 A rms and its output power factor is 0.8 lagging,
determine
i. the 3-phase average power output delivered by the generator to the infinite bus;
ii. the magnitude and angle of the line-to-neutral value of the internal/excitation emf .
iii. Sketch the phasor diagram for the operating condition, showing the phasors of the internal and infinite bus voltage, and the phase current.
