The power amplifier in a home theater amplifier has an output power of 200 watts. Assuming a Class B amplifier with the maximum theoretical efficiency is used, find the DC power delivered to the amplifier. Find the heat energy generated by this amplifier. Assuming the BJT power transistor has a maximum junction temperature of 155 degreeC, if the ambient temperature is 25 degreeC. find the maximum allowable thermal resistance from the junction to ambient. Repeat this problem with a Class A amplifier operating at the maximum theoretical efficiency.
