In waterjet cutting, a stream of supersonic water is used toslice through materials ranging from sheets of paper to solid steelplates. The water is held in a reservoir at 59,900 psi andallowed to exit through a small orifice at high speed. Find the exit speed of the water and compare with the speed of sound.
