Question: module 7 dq 1 response to Deliah
The unit of analysis that this researcher would explore would be the physicians, because the researcher is trying to find out about the behaviors of the physicians who have rated high on patient satisfaction. Because, according to Trochim (2006) the unit of analysis is the "who" or the "what" that you are analyzing for your study. Your unit of analysis could be an individual student, a group, or even an entire program. In addition Dallal (2004) noted in any study involving people, the individual is commonly thought of as the unit of analysis because we study people. However, the unit of analysis and the corresponding sample size are determined by the way the study is conducted. Furthermore, according to Units of Analysis (n.d.) each individual unit of analysis implies a circumscribed population that must be delineated in the research design process of operationalization. This researcher would choose 50 patients from each physician; therefore the number would roughly be around 500. This number would be adequate enough, for the researcher to effectively be able to identify the behaviors of those particular physicians.
