The steady-state response is due to simple poles in the j axis of the s-plane coming from the input. Suppose the transfer function of the system is: H(s)=Y(s)/X(s)= 1 / (s+1)^2 + 4
a. Find the poles and zeros of H(s) and plot them in the s-plane. Find then the corrosponding impulse response h(t). Determine if the impulse response of this system is absolutely integrable so that the system is BIBO stable.
b. Let the input x(t) = u(t). Find y(t) and fromit determine the steady state solution.
c. Let the input x(t) = tu(t). Find y(t) and from it determine the steady-state response. What is the difference between this case and the previous one?
d. To explain the behavior in the case above consider the following: Is the input x(t) = tu(t) bounded? That is, is there some finite value of M such that |x(t)| < M for all times? So what would you expect the output to be knowing that the system is stable?
An office building is billed based on the rate structure given in Table 5.3 (Energy charges is $0.0732/KWh and demand charge is $9 / mo-kw. As a money saving strategy, during the 21 days per month that the office is occupied
A proportional control system is to be used to control the wing flaps of a jet air-plane. The wind load is expected to cause as much as 600 in .lb of torque. The system should be able to keep the flaps to within 5 of the set point.
With respect to sinusoidal signals, explain the difference between the way we normally define "amplitude" and the "amplitude" measurement on an oscilloscope. Also, How does the amplitude setting on a function generator relate to these
A 1 load draws 6 MW at 0.8 power factor lagging. Determine the reactive power required from a parallel capacitor to bring the power factor of the parallel combination up to 0.93
In a RLC circuit, the generator voltage varies in time, where the amplitude of e max= 1.2 volt and emf freq.= 0.5 Hz , which the max current is equal to the max current when the freq. of emf = 3.0 Hz, which is .00033 A.
Design a circuit that will add either 1 or 2 to a 4-bit binary number N. Let the inputs N3, N2, N1, N0 represent N. The input K is a control signal. The circuit should have outputs M3, M2, M1, M0, which represent the 4-bit binary number M.
Working with wired rifle microphones and radio microphones, The theatre's concerns when changing of wired rifle microphones to a radio microphone system are
An n-channel MOS device in a technology for which oxide thickness is 20nm, minimum channel length is 1μm, k'n = 100μA/V2, and Vt=0.8 V operates in the triode region, with small vDS and with the gate-source voltage in the range 0V to +5V.
The program is to input the number character-by-character and then assemble them together so that the original number is put into a floating point variable and displayed back to the monitor.
A square plate of titanium is 12cm along the top, 12cm on the right side, and 5mm thick. A normal tensile force of 15kN is applied to the top side of the plate. A normal tensile force of 20kN is applied to the right side of the plate.
Develop a system to help students learn Morse Code. The system will have one input and 26 outputs (one per letter). The user sends in Morse Code pulses on the input, and as characters are completed the appropriate letter is lit up momentarily.
What is the symbol rate and what is the bandwidth occupied by the 16-QAM signal? The link must maintain a BER no higher than 10^-6. What is the minimum CNR in the receiver to meet this requirement?
