Two identical coils are parallel to each other on the same axis. They are separated by a distance equal to their radius (so called Helmholtz coils). They each have N turns and carry equal currents I in the same direction.

1. Find an expression for the magnetic field strength at the mid-point between the loops.

2. Calculate the field strength if the loops are 15mm in diameter and carry 100mA current.
