In a primrose variety there is one gene controlling the color of the flower.  Two alleles of this gene occur R (for red) and W (for white).  The homozygotes have red and white flowers, respectively.  Heterozygotes have pink flowers.

In a population you find 16 plants with red flowers, 48 plants with pink flowers, and 36 plants with white flowers.
