The density of liquid water at 25 C is 997 kg/m3 and the specific gravity of solid water (ice) at 0 C is 0.98. 100 kg of liquid water at 25 C and 50 kg of ice at 0 C are placed in an isolated container. Find: 1. the initial volume of the liquid-ice mixture, in m3, 2. the volume after all the ice is melted, in m3, 3. will the temperature of the liquid water increase or decrease? Why?
