One locomotor category among the primates has been called vertical clingers and leapers (saltatorial locomotion). This phrase was coined because animals to which it applies commonly carry their bodies in a vertical posture while sitting or while clinging to vertical branches. They can also move through their environment by series of powerful and often spectacular leaps. Of these species, Tarsus is an excellent example. What features fo the Tarsus skeleton reflect this behavioral adaption? Support you answer with features that may not easily be measured.
