Family Literacy Assignment

The idea is to develop an original activity for your students to take home and work on with their families.

Homework should be formatted as if you were sending it home with your students. So feel free to use different fonts, make them colorful, and use images.

Your family literacy homework should clearly state the 1-2 literacy skills you are focusing on. You should include clear instructions for your families and students, so they understand what is being asked of them. Be sure to consider the diversity that may exist in your classroom. For example, what if everyone can't gather supplies or print something at home? You are expected to include a sample of what you expect (a diagram or a picture) if you ask your students to creaate a project. Also, consider having your families join you in the classroom if students share their homework.
