You have examined mental processes that underlie motivation, as well as situational factors that can influence these mental processes. In this assignment, you will synthesize information found in the Learning Resources by creating a presentation.

Imagine that you have been asked by the director of a local after-school tutoring program for school-age children and adolescents to create a presentation on motivation.

The presentation will be used as part of training exercises for professionals working for the program. The objective of the presentation is to provide an overview of the cognitive and situational factors that influence motivation.

In addition, the presentation should offer practical suggestions for using this information to effectively activate motivation in school-age children and adolescents. It should take the form of a 5- to 7-slide PowerPoint presentation.

Your presentation should include information on the following:

•The conditions that must be present for children and/or adolescents' self-system to be activated (e.g., importance, efficacy, and emotional response) and why

•Specific techniques or activities that professionals working with school-age children and adolescents might implement to promote these conditions and foster motivation. Keep in mind that the presentation is geared toward professionals in a multi-age after-school tutoring program. Thus, you should include ideas for at least three different ages and subject areas/academic topics.
