Chapter Six Learning Activity: Temperament Trait Comparasion

Purpose

The activity and reflection in this activity will help you identify your own temperament traits and highlight how the areas where your traits differ from those you live or work with can impact the goodness of fit and quality of your relationships. When you find that a child makes you exhausted, or an adult frustrates you, often that is due to differences in your individual temperament traits. Sometimes you can develop negative feelings about the person in general. Charting such as you will do in this discussion can help you identify specific areas to work on to improve the relationship. Most of the time it turns out the conflicts are tied to just one or two traits instead of EVERYthing about the person. Targeting those can make the task seem surmountable instead of futile.
