Write a short analysis of each case study, identifying the root cause and contributing factors that caused the problem. Explain your process for arriving at these factors and provide recommendations to ensure the issue does not happen again. Use appropriate evidence from the literature to support your ideas. Case: Jacob lives in a remote Aboriginal community in Western Australia. He works as a ranger and often brings home bush foods to share with his family. On the 1st November, he decided to prepare a traditional dish using freshly caught fish and native vegetables for his extended family gathering. The fish was cooked thoroughly over an open fire, and the vegetables were boiled. The meal was a success, and everyone enjoyed it.

Encouraged by this, Jacob decided to prepare a large batch the next day so that his family could have leftovers for several meals. The meal was served at lunch time and the leftovers were kept so they could be finished off that evening. It was a hot day, so the family went off for a swim in the local creek and returned at dusk when they shared out the leftover food between 7-8 pm.

The next afternoon, several family members became very ill and attended the local health clinic, who diagnosed a suspected outbreak of foodborne illness.

Question: Write a short, structured analysis of this outbreak. Identify the hazards present in this scenario. Explain the exposure pathways and susceptible groups. Use the accompanying evidence to identify the root cause and contributing factors that led to the outbreak, explaining your reasoning and clearly referring to the evidence provided.
