Problem

The purpose of this activity is to practice applying what you have learned regarding privacy and confidentiality.

Task

Consider the following case

Sylvia works in an addiction facility as an outreach worker. Her position involves driving into the community and meeting for individual counseling with clients who do not have transportation to reach the facility, and with clients who have dropped out of treatment and an attempt to entice them into returning. Sylvia is told to bring the clients records with her and keep them locked in her trunk, and that she must put the agency billboard in the window of her car so that it is clear she is there on official business. While visiting a client in the community, Sylvia was told by a client about an incident of physical abuse towards an older adult living in the home. Upon returning to the office, Sylvia asks to meet with her supervisor to discuss concerns regarding several issues related to confidentiality.
