Explain why are some nations rich while others remain poor?

There are several theories as to why some nations developed into rich nations and other nations failed to advance.
There are several potential influences incorporating: Natural resources, government, religion, climate, technology, economic infrastructure, corruption, internal conflict, education level, customs and work ethic of population (there are more!)
