Question 2. In United States public schools, educational inequality issues have been discussed since the Supreme court mandated school desegregation in 1954. Despite this new mandate, students of color make up the majority population of poor inner-city schools while white students constitute the majority of suburban or private schools.

Explain and discuss these issues focusing on the following elements:

-how this phenomenon has negatively affected inner-city schools

- suggest how we, as teachers and policy makers, can help alleviate educational inequalities for students of color who reside in poor neighborhood.
