Guide Question: After completing the readings and research on the measures of central tendency, explain the following approach: The measure most used to represent a group is that of central tendency or position, and, within these, the arithmetic mean is the most complete. But it should only be used with variables measured with ratio or quotient and interval scales. Sometimes, when the ranges of an ordinal variable are reasonably close to an interval scale, the arithmetic mean is also often used. We also need to consider that, depending on our data set, we should choose between the different means.
