The patient reports occasional headaches and denies chest pain or shortness of breath. They take three blood pressure medications. Using scientific evidence and provider-level language, explain to the patient the pathophysiology of primary hypertension, its clinical manifestations, and to what it might predispose patients.

3. A 10-year-old patient presents with elevated blood pressure at your clinic. Repeated measurements confirm that the patient's blood pressure is higher than it should be. Discuss a secondary cause of hypertension in children including the pathophysiology, clinical manifestations, and clinical implications for an individual affected by it.
