Case: We have covered four main ways of making sense of personal identity over time, namely, the Soul Theory, the Physical Criterion, the Psychological criterion, and Temporal Parts theory:

1) Which of the four do you think is correct (or at least more correct than the other three)? In answering, explain how you understand the view that you are defending. Next, explain why you think the view is correct. Give a substantive and detailed argument for your position.

2) After giving an argument for your position, respond to at least one objection against it. I've covered various issues and objections with the different views on personal identity. Choose at least one of the objections, explain what the objection is (don't just mention it) and respond to it with a substantive response. In the case of Temporal Parts theory, one objection would be that it depends on the Block Universe theory of time and on that view the experience of temporal flow is a kind of illusion, since there is no genuine change in the "static" block. That's not the complete objection, but I leave it to you to think it through. Ask me if you want to defend temporal parts theory and you can't think of a good objection to respond to.
